Maybelline Brow Drama

Two weeks ago, I received a package from Influenster. I was reasonably sure it contained some sort of eyebrow product, given the guided nature of their last survey, and I was excited. Very excited. In the end, I was underwhelmed. The brow chalk was a little too bold for my taste. While that's merely a matter of preference--people prefer different looks--I was also not a fan of the applicator. It was clunky to use and difficult to control, and the chalk went everywhere. I practically ruined my foundation by doing my brows. Their brow pencil, however, was acceptable. I still prefer powder, but it was one of the better pencils I've used. The pencil , I would recommend. Disclaimer: Although this product was given to me free of charge for testing purposes, all opinions are my own.

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink

Looking for a great summer lip color? Normally searching for lip stick or lip gloss can be a pain. Colors smear, feel clumpy, or just don't look good. Lucky for me, before I even had to start looking, I received Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the mail for free, courtesy of  Influenster . They sent me two colors, seen below. The red is 20 - Pioneer and the other color is 15 - Lover. There are 10 color options in total, which can be found  here . The first thing I did was check the colors on my arm. Since I didn't pick the colors myself, I wanted to see if they matched my skin tone. They weren't kidding in naming it SuperStay! I wiped it off my arm only 30 seconds after applying and it still took quite a bit of effort, and a dab of make-up remover, to get off. Naturally the next step was to try it on. I decided to put on 'Lover' since it's a great everyday color. 'Pioneer' is a bold red that's great for going out, but no...

Walking Pays Off

I must admit that my first post isn't necessarily something new that I've done, it's actually about an app that I've used for almost a year. The app is called AchieveMint, and it pays you for having a healthy lifestyle. How Does It Work? All you have to do is link up your account from one of many activity tracking sources. These include, but are not limited to: Fitbit Garmin Jawbone Apple Health Microsoft Health MyFitnessPal MapMyRun You can sync more than one app too, so if you use apps for different things, you're still set. For instance, I use Fitbit for exercise but I track food through another app that I sync through Apple Health.   Once you sync your accounts, all you have to do is go to AchieveMint's website or app and refresh it every so often to get your points. P.S. This means you have to make sure your app is set first, so sync any devices often. It's super easy and convenient, and it pays well. I got $50 cashed out a few days ...

Welcome!

Life is a collection of little moments and new discoveries. Some of these things are grand, monumental occasions. Others? They're small moments or changes we make. By taking a moment of our time, or a little risk, we can discover something wonderful and new. Through this blog, I want to share these new discoveries with you. To give fair warning, I tend to ramble. If you couldn't tell from the title? It's a habit of mine. Hopefully, something from my deluge of words and pictures inspires you to try something new as well.
